Homeostase
De regulatie van de waterhuishouding is een voorbeeld van een homeostatisch
regelmechanisme. Daarbij spelen de nieren, de osmotische waarde van het bloed en het
hormoon ADH een belangrijke rol.Veranderingen in de osmotische waarde van het
bloed, bijvoorbeeld door sterke vochtopname, worden gesignaleerd door zogenoemde
osmosensoren die in de hypothalamus aanwezig zijn.
