Vraag 44

 Sir,
At least some of the frustration black professionals feel at having too little
appreciation or compensation at work, though they have been successful in school and
have been working themselves to death, may be the result not of racism but of a corporate
system that devalues both blacks and whites. I know dozens of whites who excelled at
some of the world's best schools and got on the fast track at top corporations - only to find
themselves, in their mid-40s, working for morons who minimize their achievements and
withhold rewards they have earned. Being black may make things worse, but being white
may not make them a whole lot better.
