Heatwave puts 4p on a loafBREAD prices will rise by as much as 4p a loaf because of a poor harvest blamed on the hot summer and higher energy bills, bakers warned yesterday. Rank Hovis and ADM Milling, Britain’s biggest millers, are increasing the price of their flour by around £29 per ton next month. The National Association of Master Bakers said it expected this to put between 2p and 4p on a loaf. |
