Play safe and don't go on the rails! |
|
BEST-selling children's author Roald Dahl worked through his last |
illness to keep young readers safe on Britain's railways. |
One of his final works, Roald Dahl's Guide to Railway Safety, |
illustrated by the famous artist Quentin Blake, is aimed at eight to 13- |
year-olds and is part of a campaign to eliminate the 100 deaths every year |
of people who trespass on railway tracks - 30 of them children. |
It's a guide which is wise and funny. This picture, for instance, warns |
"If the train is pulling out as you arrive, never chase it and try to get on." |
