WASHDAY DRIP

MY husband has always been

very particular about his clothes,

never buying anything likely to

clash with his colour scheme. I

slipped and sprained my wrist

one washing day and he offered

to hang the clothes on the line.

He was away so long I

wondered what he was up to.

There he was on the lawn,

carefully choosing garments and

bed linen, the colour of which

harmonised, before hanging

them next to each other.

But what a waste of time!
