Hell-raiser of the weekAn 82-year-old woman has been asked to remove her hat while having lunch in a pub in case she posed a security risk, it was reported last week. Betty Wilbraham stopped for lunch at the Hereward in Ely, Cambridgeshire. When she ordered her food, she was told it was a ‘hatless pub’. Licensee Tony Love told The Daily Mail: “Mrs Wilbraham does not understand that the world is changing. It’s all to do with the Closed Circuit TV. We cannot be seen to be discriminating between the youths and the elderly people.” |
