MOST depressing news of the |
month, possibly of the year, comes |
from the City University Business |
School. Researchers there have |
concluded that 'electronic |
classrooms' could he with us sooner |
than expected. |
According to Clive Holtham, the |
Bull Information Systems Professor |
of information Management (sorry, |
but that is his title), the electronic |
approach to teaching enables |
students to cover more topics than |
face-to-face methods. |
'Since up to 30 people can actively |
contribute to a lesson at any given |
time, the scope for student |
participation is greatly increased over |
a traditional lecture or seminar where |
one person only can contribute at a |
time,' he said. |
The professor is quick to point out |
that the 'electronic classroom |
approach' does not mean humans |
will ultimately be replaced by |
computers in schools and univer- |
sities. I don 't believe him. |
Welke mening heeft de schrijver over de ontwikkelingen rond de computer in het onderwijs?
